How to deal with rioters

August 9, 20011Dear Sir,The West rejoiced and encouraged the Arab populations to revolt against their leaders, the same leaders whom the West had previously aided and abetted in their suppression of the Arab populations. What the West was in fact doing was encouraging lawlessness and anarchy, because these countries had laws, however oppressive they might appear to the West, they were laws and the people were being encouraged by the West to break them. With their typical arrogance the West was saying “Our democratic/capitalist system is better than yours and you should follow our example. So tear down the system”.If you encourage people to break the law in another country, you are also encouraging segments of your own population who may be dissatisfied with your own system to follow suit. So as the West rejoiced in what they termed the Arab Spring, they were oblivious to the fact that they were encouraging a European Summer.Great Britain is now in the throes of the European Summer, and Spain, Portugal, Germany etc must follow. As for America, it must experience the American Autumn and it will be catastrophic; for the American people are now coming to realise that the American Dream is nothing but a nightmare. The rich are getting richer and the poor becoming indigent and homeless. And as they suffer, they are fed a daily dose of politicians duelling and vacillating back and forth dressed in their $300 suits and enjoying all the perks which come with political chicanery. Western society has programmed its citizens through a constant battery of commercials and other media to crave the newest fad. The London rioters acted out exactly what they were programmed to do. They stole the TVs, phones, cameras, designer paraphernalia that commercials told them they should have. They didn’t have the money to purchase these consumables and when the opportunity presented itself they broke the law.Who are these rioters in the Mother Country? They are mostly young, undereducated, jobless individuals who watch the telly most of the day, and who have not a snowball’s chance in hell of legally experiencing the western dream. And they are not confined to Great Britain. How do we deal with these young people? Bring back compulsory conscription! At the age of 18 every young person will serve in the Army/Air Force/Navy. These institutions will be charged with training the conscripts in whatever areas are seen to be necessary. There will have to be an amendment to Human Rights as well as any laws relating to the new recruits, however, all rights will ensue once each recruit has served the required time. This new army can be utilised throughout the world in humanitarian ways. No recruit will be allowed to be a conscientious objector. If something is not done and soon, the West will experience an army of underprivileged, unemployed, undereducated young people, programmed to destroy a system which they do not believe in and one in which they have no hopes of surviving. And there are not enough jails to hold them.CLEVELYN CRICHLOW
