The top three teams all won their matches as unbeaten leaders 7-Up Netts maintained their three-point lead in the Saturday League with a 30-21 win over

Carolyn Binns led the Netts scoring with 26 of the 30 goals while Denise Perinchief got the other four in support. Cardinals led 7-6 after the first quarter before Netts turned it around to 14-8 in their favour at the half which they maintained in the second half.

Second-placed PCC wallopped North Village 50-23, never looking back after leading 14-3 at the end of the first quarter and 25-8 by the half. The lead was extended to 40-16 by the third quarter and PCC reached their half century mark before the final whistle.

Rose Richardson led the winners with 31 goals while Sheena Manders scored 19.

For North Village, Nicole Jennings had 12 and Nikita Trott 11.

Aico were the big winners on the day, thrashing last-placed Warwick Redbirds 64-7. Aico went from 15-0 to 30-2 to 49-3 after each quarter as the match was wrapped up early, thanks to Debbie DeShields' 46 goals and Vernelle Flood's 18.

In the other match on Saturday, Hamilton Parish moved level on points with Olympic Panthers in mid-table following their 40-24 triumph over the Panthers.

Alex Dowling was the top scorer for Parish with 37 goals while Davita Gibbons scored three.

7-Up Netts also continue to lead the Sunday League, stretching their winning streak to 10 matches with a 68-8 hammering of Cooper & Lines.

Dawnette Smith scored 37 and Antoinette Williams 31 as 7-Up Netts got off to a good start, leading 21-1 and then 29-2 after the first two quarter. After three quarters they were leading 46-5.

7-Up Netts opened a four point lead over Olympic Panthers who had a bye on the weekend.

Kimale Pitt scored 21 goals for Netts' other team -- Netts -- and Gina Christopher 10 as they beat Running Rebels 31-22. Patree Hayward netted 12 times for the Rebels.

PCC, third, edged by Wolves 30-28 as Karen Jones scored 19 and Leslie Simons 11 to pace the winners. Boulevard won by default over Aico.

SOFTBALL SOF Butterfield & Steinhoff roared back from a seven run deficit in the bottom of the seventh inning to defeat Anfossi & Butterfield 16-15 during Commercial League action on Monday night.

Andy Yonda swatted the game-winning double in an eight-run inning with Dan Koshowski picking up the victory. Koshowski helped his own cause, going three-for-three, including a double and four RBIs.

Bill Spencer delivered four hits in the winning effort, driving in three runs on two doubles.

Losing hurler Marty Brandt also had a hot bat in the slugfest, going four-for-five with three doubles and four RBI. Iwan Jones also had four hits for the losers.

Sousa's slammed the door on Bobcats 11-3 behind Alan DeSilva's solid pitching effort and he had two hits, including a double and two RBI. Jeff Sousa slapped a triple and drove in four runs.

Joel Schaeffer and Terry West each clubbed a pair of hits for Bobcats. Tony Readwin was the losing pitcher.

In the only other game, Team Fashions defeated Robin Hood 14-6, led by Marvin McKay, Keith Trott and Justin Wall. Trott and Wall each had round-trippers while McKay was three-for-four.

Reed Young led Hood with a double and triple.

Gerald Bean was winning pitcher while Peter Smith was tagged with the loss.

DARTS DRT BAA now have a seven-point lead in the Women's Darts League following a 5-2 victory over St. George's II this week.

The victory gives them an 11-1 record on the year and an equally impressive 11-1 record in the trebles.

RAA are in second place on 58 points with an identical 11-1 record after sneaking past Moonglow 4-3. RAA also grabbed the 1001.

Despite the loss, Moonglow are suddenly a team to watch, creeping ever closer to second spot on 51 points.

BPSA scored a convincing triumph over Police East, dropping only one doubles game along the way. BPSA also won the 1001.

In other matches, EEMYC topped HPWC 5-2 and Mariners narrowly defeated St.

George's I 4-3.

Jean Clark and Terry Cartwright each have a 12-0 record and are the toast of the tons with 28 each.

EQUESTRIANISM RAH The Bermuda Equestrian Federation (BEF) recently received news of Team Bermuda's third place finish in Group II -- Prix St. George's level -- in the FEI/SAMSUNG International Dressage Competition 1993.

A trio consisting of Eddo Hoekstra on Capodimonte, Suzanne Ericsson on Colonel and Madeleine Axelsson on Galax were pitted against teams from Mexico, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Colombia and Peru.

Colombia placed first, amassing a total of 1,367 points, with Mexico second at 1,320 and Bermuda a close third on 1,271.

Particularly pleasing among the locals were the individual performances of Hoekstra aboard the eight-year-old Dutch Warmblood stallion owned by Florindo Canale, who was sixth out of 53 competitors, while Ericsson seized eighth.

Judges were Domini Morgan of Great Britain and Swede Birgitta Bergsten.

Michelle Ingham was honoured by the BEF at a small reception for her bronze medal win at the 1993 North American Young Rider Championships at Tampel Farm in Chicago, Illinois, with a video of her performance being showed to eager onlookers.

BRIDGE BDG Several local teams were still in the running as the knockout teams were slimmed down from 48 teams to 24 in the Bermuda Regional Tournament at Southampton Princess.

Remaining in the prize hunt were members of the Bermuda international team -- Alan Douglas, Charles Vaucrosson, Ian Harvey, David Pereira, Bill Souster and Ernie Owen.

Joan Klap and Shirley Tartick of Canada captured the HA&E Smith Pairs title while Douglas and Vaucrosson were second and Hilda Silverman and Valerie Klein of Connecticut third.

In stratified pairs play, Don and Lena Jackson of Canada were leading in flight A while Peter Willcocks and Lyn O'Neill led flight B. Leading flight C were David Cordon and Deborah Roberts.

Locals also enjoyed success in side games with Theresa Howard and Chris Hebscher and Tony and Judy Readwin winning their events.

POOL POO Dennis Parsons notched a 50 in leading Swinging Doors I to an easy 217-164 victory over Frog & Onion while Sticks Henderson spoiled Gary Bascome's bid for a 50 by taking the last game 10-7 during recent action in the pool league.

The victory by Doors moved them into sole possession of the league lead, one game ahead of the two Robin Hood teams.

Robin Hood I defeated Vasco II 208-164, sparked by a 50 from Nick Mansell.

Hamilton Parish edged Robin Hood II 196-181 to knock them out of first place.

Parish were supported by strong performances from Calvin Burgess (46 points), Bobby Smith (43) and Michael Burgess (42).

Queens Club, meanwhile, moved into fourth place by whipping Mariners 221-146.

War Vets II won a nail-biter over Vasco III, 200-190, as Raymond (Bambi) Ward captured the 25th game, 10-3, over Carlos Veloso to complete a 50.
