Putting our stamp down

Dear Sir,

I have an idea. The latest issue of postage stamps that came out on November 21, 2013 are very beautiful and will be a great interest to gardening enthusiasts and the clubs that promote flowers. But what Bermuda needs is more postage stamps that advertise our lovely Islands. What Bermuda post office needs to do is to have stamp issues that advertise Bermuda Tourism Industry like:

1. All the cruise ships that come to Bermuda on a regular basis

2. Stamps that depict our fish, like the Lion fish, Black grouper, Turbots and more.

3. Have another birds of Bermuda issues and the birds that visit our islands from time to time like the Fish “eagles” Ospreys, Terns, Longtails and white owls.

4. More beach scenes, and scenes of Bermuda, seen when approaching Bermuda by air or ship.

5. Photographs of all the airlines that visit Bermuda

6. Do a series of stamps depicting the BUEI and its contents

7. Do a series of stamps of the Bermuda National Museum and its contents.

Remember, advertising with postage stamps costs very little, except for the production of the postage stamps and getting them to Bermuda. In all the islands to the South of Bermuda they advertise their countries with postage stamps. In the Pitcairn Islands in the Pacific Ocean, their main income is postage stamps, not tourism, or international finance business.

To cover the cost of this suggestion why not have a small increase of say five cents on the basic stamp of 35 cents? Come on Bermuda Government let’s give this suggestion a try, I’m sure it will be one of the best ways of advertising our lovely islands.
