Post Office to meet with business community over new regulations
The Bermuda Post Office will this week meet with businesses to see how they have been affected by the new postal regulations.
Two meetings will be held on Wednesday at Cathedral Hall on Church Street.
The meetings are intended to give businesses an opportunity to provide feedback on the recent changes.
The new postal code, which came into effect on September 1, requires all mail to be properly addressed and that mailboxes are situated as close as possible to the main road.
It also demands that multi-storey buildings have either a reception desk or a cluster mailbox on the ground floor.
Mail that does not meet those requirements will not be delivered.
When the changes were announced, postmaster general George Outerbridge said an increase in returned mail was anticipated but be believed the problems would fade as residents adapted to the new rules.
