Company Moves

Bermuda CableVision has announced the promotion of Alan Smith as Operations Manager. He is succeeded by Rollin Nathan, who joined the company in February 2003 and has been appointed customer solutions manager.

In his new position, Mr. Smith is responsible for overseeing customer care, dispatch, human resources and other tasks relating to the day-to-day operations of CableVision. He reports directly to Jeremy Elmas, general manager.

Yesterday Mr. Elmas said: "Alan Smith and Rollin Nathan will play important roles as we continue working to improve our service across the board at CableVision. As we evolve into a new, high-tech and highly customer-focused organisation, we need to continue innovating at all levels of the company.

"Since joining CableVision, Alan has made a major contribution to our organisation, having played a key role in some very important stages of our recent history, including helping customers through the upgrade of our cable system and spearheading the development of our new Customer Service Standards last year. He has also implemented a number of new procedures for dealing more effectively with customer service issues, and as a result we have seen customer complaints decline considerably.

In his new position, Alan has several key departments now reporting to him. He is being extremely well-assisted with the recent arrival of Rollin Nathan, his successor, an outstanding customer care professional who is already making a very positive impact in the critical area of customer service. I congratulate both of them on their new appointments."

Mr. Smith said: "Rollin Nathan brings many years of experience in customer service and sales to his position. We especially appreciate the fresh new insight he is bringing us with his view from the outside. He is already taking very well to his new position and we're delighted that he is part of the team."
