A 21-year-old man this morning denied having 35g of cannabis with intent to supply.

Shaquan Lovell, from Devonshire, pleaded not guilty to having the controlled drug in an incident on September 24 in Paget.

Mr Lovell was released on $4,000 bail with a like surety. The matter is set to return to the courts on June 4.

Also appearing before the courts was Warren Usher, who pleaded guilty to giving police false information, along with a series of traffic offences.

The court heard the 28-year-old housekeeper was stopped and ticketed by Police on September 19 last year, but gave the officers his brother’s name.

After pleading guilty, Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo fined Usher $500 for giving false information.

He further fined Usher $1,000 for riding an uninsured motorcycle, $250 for riding an unlicensed motorcycle, $100 for failing to notify the authorities about a change of address and banned him from the road for six months.

Edwina Grant, 26, meanwhile denied a single count of assaulting Natalie Crockwell in an incident in St George’s on January 6.

Ms Grant was released on $3,000 bail, with the matter set to return before the courts on May 26 for trial.

In a separate matter, Harold Masters, 64, denied a charge of wilfully damage a jeep in an incident on December 13 last year.

Mr Tokunbo released the defendant on $1,000 bail, giving him a trial date of May 13.
