THE BERMUDA INSURANCE MARKET - BIM

The course covers the development of the Bermuda Insurance Market; Bermuda's Legal System and Legislation; Captives; Reinsurance and Alternate Risk/Finance Transfer. PREREQUISITE: INS21 (This prerequisite may be waived for graduate students or those with professional designations.) WORKERS COMPENSATION AND MANAGING BODILY INJURY CLAIMS AIC 34 This course covers the workers' compensation system, compensability, statutory benefits, bodily injury claim management, injury and treatment evaluation, impairment and disability, rehabilitation, low back injury claims, medical investigation and assessing treatments and disability. Intermediate Business English

February 13. At the Bermuda Employers Council. This course is designed for business communicators who have a grasp of English grammar and mechanics but who nevertheless find it difficult to write clearly and concisely. It will deal with the whole process of writing from the thinking and planning stages to producing the final draft. Stepping Into Supervision & Management Level 1

Conflict Management

March 3. Bermuda Insurance Institute. This workshop helps ground participants in the basic theory of conflict management. Conflict is defined and the costs and benefits of conflict are examined. This course emphasises the development of "third perspective" skills to improve negotiation, communication, and mediation skills.

Basics of Reinsurance
