Police have reported that cartoonist Peter Woolcock, who died following a road accident last Thursday, may have fallen into a vehicle due to a pre-existing medical condition.

The Bermuda Police Service issued a report to clarify the circumstances regarding the death of the 88-year-old.

A Police spokesman said: “It was initially reported that pedestrian Mr Woolcock was struck by a car on Par-La-Ville Road in Pembroke around 10am Thursday, December 4, in the vicinity of The Royal Gazette offices. However, subsequent analysis from the traffic collision investigator suggests that Mr Woolcock fell from the sidewalk onto the passing car, likely due to a pre-existing medical condition he was suffering from at the time.

“In addition, Mr Woolcock was not struck by the car on the sidewalk and was not on a marked pedestrian crossing at the time of the incident.”
