Pitcher and Dore receive cricket awards

OJ Pitcher of St. David’s and Southampton Rangers teenager Alex Dore are the first Logic Player of the Week and Emerging Player of the Week after outstanding batting performances last weekend in the first round of Premier Division matches.Pitcher scored 104 not out against Warwick, the first century of the season, while 16-year-old Dore hit 81 not out against Flatts to take the Emerging Player of the Week award which replaces last season’s First Division Player of the Week award.Logic Communications and the Bermuda Cricket Board are embarking on their second year partnership of senior domestic 50-overs cricket.To cap off their sponsorship package Logic Communications continues to provide free-of-charge broadband internet service to all clubs and the BCB office and professional support personnel.Diana Winfield, Head of Marketing and Customer Operations at Logic Communications said: "We are pleased to continue our partner with the Bermuda Cricket Board and by providing free broadband access to community based cricket clubs which enhances the experience to their members and the local community. This especially helps with the after-school assistance as most have a significant youth programme. We understand the importance that cricket plays in our community and how it provides leadership to our young people."The Logic Premier League will feature 13 clubs for the 2013 season with the Premier League Player of the Week recognised for their performances each week by receiving a Logic gift voucher and the emerging player a gift bag. At the end of the season Logic will present a Player of the Year trophy to the Most Valuable Player. Bailey’s Bay captain Stephen Outerbridge won the Premier League Player of the Year award.Neil Speight, Executive Director of the BCB stated: "The BCB is exited to continue the partnership with Logic Communications who have consistently proven to be a community minded organisation. The provision of free high speed internet to our grass roots community based clubs will result in greater opportunity for them to build their programmes and increase their membership. Additionally, the awarding of the player of the week provides a great incentive and encouragement to all our players."
