Kamau Leverock is back in the Bermuda squad after he was named in the team for the North American Cup in Cayman Islands next week.

Leverock last appeared in a Bermuda shirt in February 2024 against Vanuatu during an ICC Cricket World Challenge League play-off in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia before announcing his retirement from international cricket a few days later.

In March last year, the all-rounder sent a letter to the Bermuda Cricket Board stating his intention to reverse his retirement. However, he was left out of the squads for the North American Cup and the ICC T20 World Cup Americas Regional Final.

Leverock is one of four players in the latest squad who were not involved in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Americas Sub-Regional Group Qualifier at North Field, National Sports Centre, in June.

Jermal Proctor, Kwasi James and Kevon Fubler have also been recalled, with the four replacing Jonté Smith, Luke Horan, Zeko Burgess and Chare Smith.

With Canada and the United States absent from the regional competition, Bermuda will play against Bahamas and Cayman in a round-robin format. The top team at the end of the preliminary stage will be guaranteed a spot in the final on September 27, where they will play the winner of the play-off between teams in second and third positions.
