Top Government accountant remains on administrative leave

Government’s top accountant remains on administrative leave after more than two months.Finance Minister Bob Richards confirmed Joyce Hayward is still off work, saying: “The matter is being dealt with according to Government regulations and procedures, and when that procedure is completed then we will be announcing something to the public.”No information has been made public as to why Ms Hayward is on leave, and Mr Richards declined to comment.He said Assistant Accountant General David King is currently in charge.Administrative leave is temporary leave from a job assignment, with pay and benefits intact, and can be used if an allegation has been made against an employee and an investigation is required.
