It’s that time of the year already: To Time to register for public schools

Public school enrolment for the coming year starts next week, the Ministry of Education reminded parents yesterday.Applications for entry into the Island’s preschools, primary, middle and senior seniors will be accepted from Monday through Friday.Application forms are available at www.moed.bm and at all public schools.Children must be resident in the same parish as the preschool to which the application is made, with the following exceptions:n St George’s Preschool will accept applications from residents of St George’s with postcode beginning with GE only;n Lyceum Preschool will accept applications from residents of Smith’s and Hamilton Parish;n Devonshire Preschool will accept applications from residents of Smith’s and Devonshire;n Prospect Preschool will accept applications from residents of Devonshire and Pembroke;n Warwick Preschool will accept applications from residents of Southampton who live East of the access roads to the Fairmount Southampton hotel;n Southampton Preschool will accept applications from residents of Sandys who live East of Scaur Hill.Applications for early and delayed entry to primary school must be made to the Ministry no later than February 8.Said a Government spokeswoman: “Students already in the Bermuda public school system enrolling in middle school must register in the middle school as designated per the family of schools outlined on the application.“Students not already enrolled in the Bermuda public school system must register at the middle school closest to their residence.”Children with special needs should telephone 278-3327 prior to submitting an application in order to receive assistance in selecting the most appropriate school.For more information visit www.moed.bm or read ads in this newspaper.
