Cricket youth clinics launched in east end
tomorrow with the first of many teaching clinics planned for the season scheduled at Garrison Field, St. George's, starting at 9.00 a.m.
The clinics will be supervised by two former St. George's Cup Match stalwarts, Bermuda cricket coach Allan Douglas and Wendell Smith.
Randy Horton, chairman of the Board's Youth Development Committee, said yesterday: "We are excited about the plans that are being put in place as Bermuda attempts to revive a youth programme.
"We are particularly urging parents of youngsters in the eastern parish to ensure that the players are transported to the venue.
"It should be noted that we have taken steps to arrange the programme for indoors if it rains. So we are telling the parents to get them there rain, blow or shine.'' The clinics are open to under-16 and under-13 age groups.
