Praise for Robb

Opposition and Government MPs also joined in commending retiring long-time Bermuda Police Force Sgt. Patrick Hamlett.
Mrs. Grace Bell UBP said Sgt. Hamlett had served the Force for 25 years and was "a fearless policeman who pitted himself against the underworld of this society''.
She asked congratulations be sent to him and the entire Force for its good work, especially the Narcotics Squad for its recent drug bust successes evident in the daily crime blotter. Though the Force was stretched and currently being beefed up, the squad had "stood firm against the drug culture that's been present in this Island for too long''.
Mrs. Bell further asked that condolences be sent the family of the late Mr.
Harry (Blackwolf) Fox of St. David's, an giving member of the community who died an untimely death, leaving behind his wife Cora and four children.
Of Ms Robb, Mr. John Barritt MP said: "She made a tremendous input in not only what she wrote but how she wrote it,'' She would be remembered for her "diligence'' and the "fullness'' of her House reports, he said.
Mr. Leon (Jimmy) Williams (PLP) said Sgt. Hamlett was "one of those Policemen who gave 100-percent service to this Country''.
He also asked that congratulations be sent to young St. George's artist Mr.
William Gringley, whose works currently being exhibited at City Hall have been praised by critics.
He remembered the Bermudian from his days of being involved in the St.
George's Youth Committee. "I wish him all the best,'' Mr. Williams said.
Education Minister the Hon. Clarence Terceira said Ms Robb "was indeed a very versatile journalist and probably one of the best educated. She was able to report on everything from ballet to Parliament.
Mr. David Allen (PLP) noted Ms Robb gave "sterling service'' to the House and said his party respected her objectivity.
He noted she continued to hone her skills after leaving The Royal Gazette by writing a history of the Hamilton Corporation.
Noting she was a keen traveller, he said: "She never lost that zest for life.'' Tourism Minister the Hon. C.V. (Jim) Woolridge said he too had great respect for Ms Robb.
She was accurate and honest, he said. "If you made yourself a fool, she wrote it up as a fool,'' he said.
Dr. Ewart Brown (PLP) asked that congratulations be sent to top Bermuda bowler Mr. Dean Lightbourne who recently placed third in the Super Honky tournament in Ohio which had some 1,200 competitors. He won $22,000 for his efforts, he said.
Ms Renee Webb (PLP) congratulated the Matthew brothers of Pembroke who recently held a marathon vigil at St. Augustine's Hill, a known drug dealing area, and managed to keep the pushers away for two weeks. "It was an example of taking the drugs fight to the street'' and young blacks getting involved in the war, she said.
