Mount St. Agnes Academy fired an early warning shot in the run-up to the Bermuda Schools Quiz contest when the school team piled up a massive 270 points to sail through to tomorrow's final.

MSA faced Dellwood and Sandys Middle schools in the first semi-final of the annual contest on Wednesday night.

A well-prepared MSA scored 80 bonus points - and captain Michelle Madeiros came close to a perfect score.

Sandys Secondary will return to the finals after edging Dellwood 105 to 100.

The team members from the various schools were:

MSA: Kyla Sinclair, Ahley Lombardi, Michelle Madeiros, Cameron Moulder and Sally Laing. Reserve: David Thomas.

Sandys: Jade Morris, Savanna Hallal, Stephan Edwards, Patrick Lee and Glenn Simmons. Reserves: Sierra Symonds, Catrina Fubler.

Dellwood: Shaquille Young, Dominique Pessitore, Vina Grace Parayaoan, Samuel Bailey, Willis Steede. Reserve: Brandon Morris.
