Man appears in court charged with movie theatre shootings
A teenager was yesterday accused of trying to kill a man and woman as they left a movie theatre last year.
Sanchey Grant was charged with attempting to murder Shaki Minors and Renee Kuchler outside Southside Cinema on November 13.
He was also charged with possession of a nine millimetre Beretta pistol without a licence.
And he faced a further charge of possession of ammunition for the gun without a licence.
There was a heavy Police presence inside Magistrates' Court as the charges were read to the 19-year-old. At least a dozen plainclothes and uniformed officers were in attendance, as well as several prison officers.
Grant, of Tribe Road No. 2 Warwick, was not required to enter a plea as the charges are indictable and must be heard in Supreme Court.
Mr. Minors, 26, and his girlfriend Ms Kuchler, 24, were shot around 11.20 p.m. following a night out at the St. David's cinema.
Mr. Warner remanded the defendant into custody. He is due to return to court on May 6.
