Kathy and Kelly fight back in doubles final

spotlight on the final day of the Coral Beach Invitational tennis tournament on Saturday when they fought from 2-5 down in the first set of the ladies' doubles final to score a 7-6 (7-2), 6-3 victory over Marnie Johnson and Barbara Lambert.

Johnson and Lambert saved an amazing 13 match points on Holland's serve, and held six break points of their own, before succumbing in the ninth game of the second set.

For Stuhler the victory was sweet after having lost 6-2, 6-0 to Johnson in the women's singles open final earlier in the day.

Stuhler later teamed with Stuart Smith to beat Gill Butterfield and Mike Curry in the mixed doubles open final, winning 6-2, 7-5. The turning point came in the 12th game of the second set when Stuhler and Smith saved three set points off Curry's serve to level at 5-5.

Butterfield, however, didn't leave empty-handed as she teamed with Alice Duff to win the ladies doubles 40 title with a 6-2, 6-2 victory over the American pair of Ann Reigeluth and Toni Gallagher.

As expected Michael Way captured the men's open title with a convincing 6-1, 6-1 victory over his older brother Brian, but they later teamed up to take the men's doubles open crown by beating Greg Frigerio and Alex Anderson 6-2, 6-3.

The `hard luck' final of the day was the Century Mixed match between Nanny Vanneck and Earl Leader, and Stuart and Audrey Smith which ended abrubtly when Audrey injured her back and was forced to retire.
