PHC fight back against Blazers

PHC fought back from two goals down to rescue a point in a 'dead-rubber' match against Boulevard at BAA Field yesterday.
With neither team having anything to play for other than pride, the match resembled an end of the season encounter between two mid-table outfits.
Goals at the end of a forgettable first half by Reiko Trott, from the penalty spot, and Angelo Simmons gave Blazers a two-goal cushion by the interval.
The opener saw PHC defender Mikey Lambe haul down Keemo Bean with Trott stepping up to fire home with the penalty, while Simmons' strike was a piece of virtuoso brilliance with the attacker curling in an effort from just outside the box.
After the break PHC looked the stronger of the two teams but could not find the finishing touches to the chances they were creating with Cecoy Robinson twice firing wide.
Robinson, however, made amends for his earlier misses by pulling PHC back into the game with a neat finish midway through the second period.
And with just a few minutes of the match remaining Stevie Astwood completed the comeback after linking up well with teenage winger Marco Warren.
PHC coach Kyle Lightbourne admitted the game was probably was not one for the footballing purists.
"The game looked like a game between two teams with nothing really to play for," he said.
"We gave ourselves a mountain to climb in the first half but Boulevard have some outstanding attacking players.
"We were never out of the game and we showed some fight to comeback from two goals down.
"We missed some good chances and that's been the story of our season."
Lightbourne also praised the performance of rookie Warren.
"He's only just turned 16 and is a talented young player. His dad, Dwight, was a former Bermuda international and use to play for Boulevard.
"We're trying to give youth a chance and there are few other good youngsters coming through at PHC."
