and took the life of one of his pet rabbits.

Out of anger and frustration, Mr. Gary Fraser grabbed his machete and struck one of the dogs in the leg causing both dogs to leave his property. Mr. Fraser said he awoke yesterday morning to hear dogs barking in his yard and due to the fact that he had recently had surgery, his wife went outside to see what was happening.

"After my wife went outside I looked out and saw her trying to fight the dogs off from attacking our three rabbit coups,'' Mr. Fraser said.

He added: "I went and got my machete because I was going to kill them. The dogs were big and healthy and very persistent.

"They had ripped the wire out from the bottom of one cage, and ripped the wire off another cage on the top. Even while we were fighting them off they were still trying to get in there.'' Mr. Fraser also said that there were scratch marks where the dogs were trying to get to his eight two week-old baby rabbits.

"They were very big and aggressive pitbulls and hitting them with sticks wasn't doing anything,'' Mr. Fraser said.

He added: "I did not realise one of the rabbits was dead until I walked over to the car. It was our oldest male rabbit named Brownie, blood was coming out of his ears and his neck was broken.

"I was really hurt. These are my children's pets. People with pitbulls should secure them., What if my children had been out there? "It is really a damn shame about these dogs. They go around and interfere with people's animals and property. They should all be put to sleep.'' Mr. Fraser also said that he had nothing against dogs but "these pit-bulls came onto our property and killed one of our pets''.

"I wanted to kill the dogs,'' Mr. Fraser said. "I intend to press charges when I find out who owns them because it is the carelessness of these pit-bull owners that causes things like this to happen.

"I don't care if some of them are friendly or not, they still have that killing instinct in them.'' ENOUGH IS ENOUGH -- Mr. Gary Fraser, owner of pet rabbits, used his machete to fight off two pit-bull terriers which attacked two of his rabbit coups killing his only male rabbit.
