Hawkins Island on Wednesday night.

No injuries were reported in the mishap which occurred shortly after 9.30 p.m.

But a Harbour Radio spokesman said the charter vessel Lady Erica worked hard to help Double Trouble free itself from the reef on the southwest side of the island before the tide rose and pushed the boat further up the reef.

The grounding was one of a handful of distress calls handled by Harbour Radio on Wednesday.

At 1.30 p.m. a local pleasure craft Freckles broke down two miles northeast of Dockyard and had to be towed back to shore by Marine Police.

About 30 minutes later one of Robinson Marina's rentals broke down and had to be towed back to Somerset.

And three minutes before that Meyer Industries' work boat Spanish Queen contacted Harbour Radio, telling them it had broken down, with a barge in tow, just west of the oil docks in Murray's Anchorage.

It was assisted by the Government tug Faithful .
