Warwick wins coin design competition
of the 1998 Triangular Coin Design Competition.
Mr. Warwick submission was titled "Deliverance Sailing to Virginia in 1610'' and will be the theme on one side of the 1998 Triangular Coin.
It will be the third and final issue in a three-year series of lobed-sided triangular coins that have captured the interest of collectors from around the world.
As a prize, Mr. Warwick will receive a one ounce gold proof 1998 $60 Triangular Coin.
The five member jury consisted of Chelsey Trott, Gerry Perinchief, Tony McWilliamson of the British Royal Mint, Robert Stewart from the Authority's Board of Directors and the Authority's General Manager Malcolm Williams.
The jury also highlighted entries from David Beale, Nathalie Davis, Terrill Drew, Andrea Jean Smith, and Chet Trott for Honourable Mention and awarded them each received a silver proof `1997 $3 Triangular Coin.
The entries were all viewed on an anonymous basis to ensure a fair and objective judging process.
Mr. Warwick's winning design and those selected for an Honourable Mention will available for public viewing until July 30 in the reception area of the Bermuda monetary Authority at Burnaby House on Burnaby Street.
