New cosmetics store opens
Every woman should be given the opportunity to achieve her own beauty potential according to Terenay Burch who last week opened Parfait Cosmetics & Fragrances in the Emporium Building in Hamilton.
Ms Burch a former model and Trimingham?s cosmetics consultant, has branched out on her own to offer a chic line of cosmetics appealing to both young and mature women. After Trimingham?s closed, Ms Burch continued worked as a freelance make up consultant at weddings and fashion shows under her trade name ?Perfectly Unique?.
She also worked for Hyper Productions for the Department of Tourism on style photography but her heart was set on offering her own unique line of cosmetics and fragrance products as soon as she could find a good location to operate from.
With the support of business partner Leon Bascome, Ms Burch last week launched the upscale store featuring a spacious pristine decor exuding light and muted tones.
?A lot of pride and effort was taken to design a store so it can present a pleasant ambience and we have created environment where people feel comfortable to shop,? Mr. Bascome said.
Parfait is offering private makeovers, a wide range high end cosmetics and skin care products such as Cargo Cosmetics with its line of lip glosses, lipsticks, mascara, blushes, lip and eye pencils. ?We offer consultations in our private consultation room because some women don?t like to be out in the open getting their make up applied,? Ms. Burch said.
The brands Ms Burch has selected reflects a vibrant mix of colours and the store is targeting a diversity of ethnic backgrounds including Latino, Asian, southern European, African and Portuguese ancestry.
Parfait also carries a line of popular products for children and Ms Burch also planning to offer products for men as well.
The store employs four staff including her sister Marsheen Burch and Yahaira Richards from the Dominican Republic who will cater to both Spanish and English speaking clients.
