Security for Perot beefed up
hopeful Mr. Ross Perot and his family.
The Texas billionaire, whose family owns two homes straddling Windsor Beach, has requested additional security measures.
A Tucker's Town source said Mr. Perot "has some concerns for the safety of his family''.
"We're simply trying to make sure that any time he gets away from the United States that his stays here will be as safe and quiet as possible. Arrangements are being made,'' the source said.
It is understood Bermuda Police will be involved in the security operations though the Force this week declined comment.
The news comes as Mr. Perot prepares to formally declare his candidacy for the US presidency, possibly as early as Saturday, June 27, his birthday.
In the meantime, US reporters are beginning to inquire locally about Mr.
Perot's lifestyle and history in Bermuda. Among the curious publications are the Washington Post and Conde Nast Traveller.
