To mark the school's third annual Random Acts of Kindness Day on March 9, they will assist in various projects underway at the Maritime Museum.

Those activities include re-touching and re-painting 25 16th and 17th century cannons, helping The Bermuda Children's Museum Society to paint and create an interactive children's museum room similar to that found at the Aquarium, and repainting the Youth Hostel which is used by local and foreign students when staying at the Maritime Museum.

Local coordinator of the day Sharon Nannini said it "has been gaining momentum worldwide as communities and groups focus on helping their fellow man by reaching out and donating their time and effort.'' Noting that Warwick Academy brought Random Act of Kindness to Bermuda in 1994, she added: "Warwick Academy students believe in their school and in the quality of their education and have taken this opportunity to help raise funds that will contribute towards the school's capital campaign which will aid in bursaries and tuition expenses for less fortunate students.'' Participants in this year's Random Acts of Kindness will meet at Hog Bay Park in Somerset for a "fun-filled'' walk to Lagoon Park, outside Dockyard, where they will meet the primary school children. They will continue on past the Naval Crest Wall, which they helped to repaint last year, ending at the Maritime Museum where their 1997 efforts will be focussed.
