Belco promotes five
Belco has announced five management promotions of some of its long-serving employees, all of whom have been with the company for more than 20 years.
David Faries has been promoted to vice-president and financial controller. He began his Belco career in 1989 as supervisor, general accounts, receiving various promotions and title changes over his 20-plus years of service with the organisation.
Dennis Pimentel has been appointed vice-president, energy delivery. Mr. Pimentel has responsibility for construction, operations and maintenance. He joined Belco as an apprentice in 1989.
Abayomi Carmichael is the new assistant vice-president, system reliability in energy supply operations. He joined Belco as an apprentice in 1989. He was named senior reliability engineer in 2008, and earlier this year, became the first winner of the Ascendant Impact Award for innovation and contribution to the company.
Michael Maughan has moved up to assistant vice-president, operations centre, which he has managed since January 2008. Having earned a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering from Florida Institute of Technology in 1999, he joined Belco as an engineer-in-training.
Denton Williams has been promoted to assistant vice-president, energy supply, having been given the role of manager of plant operations and maintenance in August 2009. Mr. Williams joined Belco as an apprentice in 1989 and later qualified for a Belco Internal Scholarship, earning a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering at University of Phoenix.
