Smith was not required to enter a plea when he appeared in Magistrates' Court yesterday.

Ronae Caillon Burgess, of Scenic Heights, showed little emotion as the charge was read out to a packed courtroom. He is alleged to have committed the offence on Sunday.

Burgess was remanded in custody by Senior Magistrate the Wor. Will Francis and will reappear for mention on March 10.

The Crown was represented by Crown Counsel Mr. Brian Calhoun. Mr. Marc Telemaque appeared for Burgess on behalf of Mr. Julian Hall.
