That startling assessment came from Shadow Minister for Human Affairs Ms Renee Webb, one week after a radical magazine commemorating Erskine Durrant `Buck' Burrows' hanging in 1977 was found is circulating in the community.

The five-page magazine, published by an anonymous group calling itself the Nationalist Youth Alliance, declares Burrows -- who was hanged in 1977 after the murders of Governor Sir Richard Sharples and his aide-de-camp, Police Commissioner George Duckett, Victor Rego and Mark Doe -- a martyr and "truly revolutionary individual''.

Ms Webb, who intends to speak on the magazine's contents in the House of Assembly today, said the magazine's authors were clearly "dissatisfied with the status quo and were using the paper as a medium to express the anger they are feeling.'' Human Affairs Minister the Hon. Jerome Dill had a different assessment.

"I disagree with the sentiment,'' he said. "But as long as people do not preach hate, riots or violence I have no problems. That's the beauty of living in a democracy. Everyone must have their say. They are entitled to their opinion. If that's what they believe then so be it.''
