Riders' climbing skills put to test
The 1999 Hill Climb Challenge takes place tomorrow on the Waterlot Inn entrance side of Canadian Pacific Southampton Princess Hotel starting at 9 a.m.
A number of top riders are expected to compete in the various categories with Chayce Smith, Matthew Herring and Brian Steinhoff expected to lead the junior male division.
In the senior male category the winner could come from any number of riders, including defending champion MacInnis Looby, Steve Millington, Mike Lee, Damion Wilson, Duncan Simons, Peyter Eccles and Earl Godfrey whose explosive riding style could suit this type of event.
In the women's category Melanie Claude should cap off an outstanding season with victory with competition coming from Julia Hawley and Laurie Orchard. Jay Simons (novice) and Vic Ball (veteran) are two to watch in their categories.
