Fun, flirty fashion show all flash and flesh
With scores of drooling women crammed into the same room as scantily-clad gyrating gents, the Worth The Wait fashion show completely shattered Bermuda's so-called conservative image. What was that said about being able to look, but not touch? None of the women were willing to stick to the rules at the all-male fashion show at Ocean View Golf Club.In fact the gaggle of giggling women were all about touching, grabbing, tugging and slapping as they tried to get their hands on as much as they could. There was nothing tame about Saturday night's fashion show which saw the crowd of about 150 women practically begging for a little lap dancing action.Organised by Stacy Hill at Secrets, nine of Bermuda's finest male models took to the stage leaving little to the imagination in their swimwear, boxer shorts and G-strings.This was a fashion show in the very loosest sense. It didn't really matter what the men were wearing as the women just wanted to see if they would take their clothes off.And the catwalk proved to be somewhat irrelevant as the models spent most of their time in (or rather on top of) the crowd. Yes, this event was all about women seeing how much they could get for their dollar bills stuffed near the models' groins. There was certainly a much-appreciated offering of toned and chiselled bodies to gawp at, but not all the men were beefcakes in the buff with six-pack abs. These were your average Joe Blows handpicked from the streets of Hamilton and for that very reason the crowd couldn't get enough of their pelvic thrusts.Baring their bodies were Amory Boyce, Ashun Wolffe, Benjamin Ensall, Calshonti Woods, Deon Brangman, Fitzy Richardson, Juan Looby, Kono Parsons and Reyel Bowen. Some of the guys seemed a little shy to start off with but they soon warmed to the idea of pleasing the crowd, which meant humping everything and everyone in sight. Their egos were certainly boosted as the women in the crowd tried to outdo one another by screaming and shouting the loudest in order to become the bigger spectacle. The men first appeared on stage in their loin cloths in a ‘Hail To Caesar' scene. The crowd made enough noise to get the men to drop their sheets in no time at all. Then there was the ‘Three Cheers For Football' scene where the men paraded around in little more than Argentina boxers, a Liverpool towel, a Chelsea cap not that the crowd was remotely interested in which teams they supported.‘Under There' was when the heat started rising. Women sat fanning themselves with their programmes as the men could be seen flexing their muscles, doing push-ups, stretches and lunges, and also throwing in a few dance moves. Then ‘Naughty or Nice' saw a selection of fantasy fulfillment role plays with the men dressed as police officers complete with handcuffs, a doctor with a stethoscope and face mask, and a waiter wearing little more than a bow tie and apron. It was during this scene that one hot-under-the-collar woman took it upon herself to sit on the end of the catwalk waving some notes until she got what she wanted. The male model lifted her off her feet before she returned to her seat a happy woman.During the intermission there were free shots all round. After that, the second half lost all dignity and decorum. The male models jumped off the catwalk to mingle and took quite some time to return. The audience participation was by far the best aspect of this show. The women loved being manhandled as they were straddled, had butts put in their faces and had their hair yanked towards crotch areas. There was no complete nudity, but things got quite close at times. At one point the organisers had to practically peel one of the male models off of one woman. The couple looked quite annoyed to be disturbed and the visibly-excited man was ordered backstage. Some models handed out flowers, others got out the oil and gave quick massages while one of them brazenly handed out his cell and PIN numbers saying he was offering one-hour erotic massages. The show continued with the splish/splash beachwear scene and plenty of silk nightwear in the pillow talk scene. But one of most crowd-pleasing moments was when Mr Bermuda bodybuilding champion Garvin Phillips took to the stage to flex his muscles. ‘The House', as he is aptly known, couldn't stop grinning and giggling away to himself as he stripped down from his shorts and T-shirt. The finale was ‘wild side' which was all about the models adorning animal-print underwear and feather face masks. The men could be seen slithering and sliding across the stage before picking four more-than-willing women to share the limelight with them. The women were tied to the chairs as each of the models gave them high-energy personal performances which nearly pushed their chairs off the stage. The show, which started more than 30 minutes late, could have been a little better organised. Things could have been a bit more choreographed and on point, but the crowd still got the fun and flirty night they wanted. With a 24 and older age restriction in effect, the only complaint seemed to be that the men should also have been older. Lots of cougar jokes could be heard as a couple of the models were barely over 21.It was corny and cheesy but the women in the crowd were totally smitten. They had a great time, they went crazy and they returned home with huge grins on their faces.
