Robert Vallis and Nick Mansell extended their lead to three shots after the second round of the Bermuda Amateur Four Ball Championships at Port Royal yesterday.

Leading by one stroke after Thursday's first round, Vallis and Mansell pulled away from the visiting pair of Robert Morris and Marty West from Washington.

"Nick played very well today while I did not have the same game I did yesterday," said Vallis.

"I hit some shots I haven't seen before today."

In the net division, Port Royal members Scott Barnett and Jonathan Dodd continued their fine play with an even par 71, having fired a net 67 the previous day.

The first round of the ladies tournament saw a three-way tie for first place – Tracy Nash and Nikki Boyce, Katyna Rabain and Donna Jones and Susan Vallis and Frances McManus all finishing with scores of 86.

Vallis and McManus lead the net division with a score of 74, two shots clear of Rabain and Jones.
