Police prosecutor, Sgt. Cyril Plant, said Ascento, 36, of Loyal Hill, Devonshire, was stopped at the corner of Ried and King Streets on November 15 for failing to stop at a stop sign.

At that time it was discovered he was a disqualified driver riding an unlicensed motorcycle with no third party insurance.

Ten days later Ascento was stopped for speeding at 67 k.p.h. He was riding an uninsured motorcycle, and he had no third party insurance. Ascento was also a disqualified driver having been given a five year ban in December 1988. He was due to come back on the road on December 12.

Senior Magistrate, the Wor. Will Francis fined Ascento $300 for driving while disqualified on November 10 and took him off the road for 12 months. He fined him an additional $300 for having no third party insurance, $150 for having an unlicenced motor cycle and $75 for failing to stop at a stop sign.

For his second set of offences, Mr. Francis fined him $400 for driving while disqualified, and 12 months off the road, $300 and six months off the road for speeding at 67 k.p.h., $300 for having no insurance, and $150 for riding an unlicensed motorcycle.

The disqualifications will all run concurrently.
