Over the New Year?s holiday weekend five people were arrested on suspicion of impaired driving.There were also eight burglaries reported. Early Monday morning, Police were called to St. George?s where they were told that someone stole $570, three PlayStation 2 controllers and a box containing foreign notes.

No one was at the Dolly?s Bay Lane home when the burglary took place.

Another guest home was broken into on Monday, this time in Sandys.

Police were called to the guest home when the visitors noticed that someone had stolen a handbag and a man?s wallet containing $230.

Over the holiday weekend there were also 20 damage-only traffic collisions and five collisions where people were injured.

A fishing boat carrying two people had to be rescued by the Marine Police after it broke down.

a 30-foot long vessel, ran into trouble when it got water in its fuel on Saturday at about lunch time.

The boat was near to two fishing banks, Argus and Challenger, about 20 at the time.

Marine Police, who were in the vicinity, towed the boat back to Robinson?s Marina in a two-hour rescue operation.
