Corporate Concierge aims to aid time-starved business people

Time-starved and resource-scare business people and companies are set to benefit from a new corporate concierge service, which is officially launched next month.

Corporate Concierge Bermuda offers an independent corporate and personal concierge service and helping out with everything from fine art services and conference management to relocation assistance and lifestyle management.

The company undertakes many of the necessary, but time-consuming tasks on its clients behalf by taking their 'To Do' list and getting it done, either in-house or by finding the appropriate expert to carry it out.

In addition, Corporate Concierge provides its members with exclusive access to a range of other services such as private secretarial services, errand running, house sitting, kiddie itineraries, as well as offering a complimentary reminder service.

Having identified a number of operating constraints for new companies on the Island and the fact a delayed start can mean lost revenues, president of Corporate Concierge, Colin Jones, moved quickly to fill a niche in the market.

"From my experience with operating service companies on the Island, I felt that there was a void in the professional service industry and addressed it," said Mr. Jones. "It has taken six months of research, careful planning and some training for our staff to bring this to fruition.

"From correspondence with people working in professional industries — I listened to their concerns, found there was a common thread and formulated a service around that. The basis of this company is communication and from effectively communicating your problem we come up with an effective solution."

Concierge services have been part of the hotel industry for several decades, but have only recently emerged in the corporate world. Corporate Concierge offers four core services: conference management, relocation assistance, fine art services and lifestyle management.

Corporate management can include anything from pre-event consultation, document preparation and venue management to reception, and travel and entertainment, while collection management, cataloguing, dealer and auction house liaison, exhibition co-ordination and private lectures are some of the functions fulfilled by the fine art services.

Relocation assistance ranges from requirements co-ordination and move consultation to interior design liaison and utilities set-up, with lifestyle management ensuring the provision of reservations, personal shopping, special gift selection, vacation planning and private functions services.

And the clientele can vary from businesses seeking to make a good first impression on visiting executives, clients and new hires, companies thinking about downsizing, with non-existent or stretched human resource, marketing or support staff and busy professionals needing help with achieving a work life balance to private individuals requiring a personal assistant to cater for their lifestyle needs with discretion and care, and visitors or part-time residents like yacht owners, golfers and occasional residents looking to make the most of their time in Bermuda.

With a number of services outsourced to cheaper labour-force regions, offices in Bermuda are reducing their numbers, which in turn means less support staff — with Corporate Concierge able to step in as and when required to fill that role.
