The Reefs Hotel has joined with the Robert Mondavi winery, one of Cal;ifornia's most celebrated estate vintners, to present a weekend of fine wining and dining in Bermuda.

The event, which will be held on February 6 and 9, will be the first of its kind for the Island and will bring guests to experience the Mondavi's expansive collection of award-winning wines in an intimate resort setting.

The Winemaker's Weekend package offers four days and three nights of spectacular gourmet events.

This gala affair kicks off with a Robert Mondavi Winery reception showcasing an assortment of premium Napa Valley wines, followed by a sumptuous dinner on the Friday night.

On Saturday, Marcia Mondavi will host guests at a lavash, five-course repast in the hotel's Clubhouse dining room as a prelude to the crowning event - a classic, wine-lover's auction, featuring a collection of rare Mondavi vintages.

Proceeds from the dinner and auction will be donated to Masterworks Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting the arts community in Bermuda.

The festivities continue on Sunday with an invitation for guests to accompany Ms mondavi at The Reefs' new Catalan restaurant for lunch and a wine symposium; a special selection of Mondavi wines has been chosen to compliment Catalan's traditional Spanish cuisine.
