FOUR STAR TO THE RESCUE FLG ENT Four Star to the rescue Faster than a supersonic jet, a fast food restaurant came to the rescue of airline passengers forced to land in Bermuda recently.

When the call came to Four Star Pizza Tuesday night to feed a hungry aircraft full of travellers, staff rose to the challenge and got baking.

Less than one hour later, 65 piping hot ten-inch pizzas were delivered post haste to the airport, where 150 passengers of a diverted American Airlines flight were waiting.

"They were wonderful,'' said AA spokesman Carole DeCouto. "We called them at 9.30 p.m. and they delivered them within an hour from their Flatts restaurant.'' The passengers had to make an emergency landing in Bermuda, after their New York to Caracas flight encountered moderate turbulence 200 miles west of the Island.

Fifteen people, including two crew, were treated, some at King Edward VII Hospital, for slight injuries suffered during the flight.

All but one of the passengers rejoined the aircraft later in the evening, and the flight finally took off again for Caracas shortly after midnight.

One female passenger flew to New York to rejoin another service to Caracas.

She was delayed from taking the original plane whilst doctors carried out blood tests.

Mrs. DeCouto said those treated at hospital were not seriously hurt.
