Three wins apiece again left Eddie Roque amd Michael Roberts tied for the title of top driver as harness racing continued at the Vesey Street track on
Roberts won twice with Just a Gigolo and again with Direct Toy Boy, both Bermuda-bred ponies, while Eddie Roque scored a double with Tuxedo Bow Tie.
Francis DeSilva's new pony Speedway Jr. and Joe Viera's Grand Magic also won twice.
Another in top form was Tony Adcock's Diamondway who set a track record for trotters last week and on Sunday equalled that record, winning the day's feature race in 1:15/1.
Most exciting race of the day was the first heat in the free-for-all when Michael DeCosta's Grand Shady, who had fallen to his knees before the start and delayed the event, got up to bolt to the front and look a sure winner. But at the finish, Shady was nipped by fast moving Carolina Jubilee, Murray Terceira's big gray gelding.
Jubilee also won the second heat while Eddie the Great with Dal Vasconcelos was third both times.
Racing is again scheduled this Saturday, starting at 1.00 p.m.

SQUASH SQU Up and coming player Stephen Young knocked out club champion Murray Brewer 3-2 as the Bermuda Squash Racquets Association launched their Shell divisional handicap tournament over the weekend.
Despite a 20 point deficit in each game, Brewer clawed back to 14-14 in the final game to force a sudden death situation from which Young emerged victorious.
Likewise, ladies club champion Denise Kyme went down 3-2 to Tony Prentice in another exciting battle.
Caribbean junior champion James Stout clinched a narrow 3-2 win over Nicky McMartin while `disco king' Donovan Furbert showed he's quite a mover on the squash court too, as he sneaked a close victory over Glen Gibbons 3-2.

ARCHERY ARC The newly-formed National Archery Association of Bermuda are to bring in two American coaches to help further develop the sport on the Island.
Steve Allan and Tom Green, representing the world governing body, FITA, will be here from November 3 to November 9 when they will conduct sessions at the Saltus School field on weekdays after 5.00 p.m.
Meanwhile, the local association have extended the hours of their own Sunday sessions at Saltus. Shooting will now take place between 10.00 a.m. and 12.30 p.m., and 1.00 p.m. and 3.30 p.m.
MARTIAL ARTS MAT Bermuda was well represented over the weekend at the Goodwill Tournament in Niantic, Connecticut following two days of special training under Okinawan instructors Tha Koshin and Yasuda Tesunouke.
Bermuda Karate Institute head trainer Kent Simmons placed first in the Japanese forms, second in sparring and third in weapons in the masters category (over 40).
BKI founder Skipper Ingham placed second in masters Okinawan forms, and BKI judo instructor Stephane Guillot, competing in the brown belt category, placed third in sparring.
BKI instructors attended the event as part of their preparation for the Bermuda team's visit to the Okinawa Karate and Kobudo World Tournament in August next year.
BRIDGE BDG Bermuda's team of Joe Wakefield, John Burville, Vera Petty, Marge Way, Jean Johnson and David Pereira played their best bridge so far in the World Olympiad in Rhodes, Greece over the weekend.
The local team won three games in a row, defeating sixth placed Sweden 25-4, Singapore 23-7 and Croatia 16-14, while losing to Romania, Argentina, and Ukraine.
The team picked up an additional 18 VP plus 18 for a bye and now have 311 out of a maximum 775.
Bermuda, however, remained bottom in their group as they faced their last day's competition yesterday against Poland, South Africa and the Czech Republic.
France, Indonesia, Poland, Italy, Iceland and Israel were all expected to advance into the quarter finals.
