Brock Webel had a two-for-three outing for the losers as Weerasooriya got the win and John Gogan suffered the loss.

The night's opening game saw Arthur Andersen beat Skandia 14-9 with Mark Cordeiro going three-for-four for the victors. Robert DeSilva had a perfect two-for-two and Anthony Cordeiro two-for-four in support while Stuart McRae went two-for-four and Randy Somerville two-for-three for Skandia.

BRIDGE BDG Bermuda's Joe Wakefield won the Flighted Pairs Flight A title in partnership with long-time visitor Jim Linhart as play in the Bermuda Regional Bridge Tournament continued at the Southampton Princess Hotel on Thursday.

Runners-up were Howard and Judi Weiner while Barbara Seagram and Alex Kornel were third.

The Flight B title went to Stanley and Irene Wolf while locals David and Sally Sykes captured Flight C.

The Knockout Teams quarter-finals saw the end of a fine run by the lone remaining all-Bermuda team captained by Alan Douglas.

The powerful Mukherjee team defeat Douglas' crew but there is still hope for local glory as Margie Way and Jean Bath are members of the Barrett team who beat Silverman's team.
