Men hurt in police car collision

Two men on a motorcycle broke their legs after they collided with a police car.At 3.35am on Saturday police attempted to stop a man, with a male passenger, driving a motorbike along Angle Street. The driver went through a stop sign at the junction with Court Street.A spokesman said: “This resulted in the motorcycle colliding with another police vehicle that was traveling south on Court Street.“Officers immediately rendered assistance to the two men on the motorcycle until the ambulance arrived and both men were taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital where they are being treated for multiple superficial wounds and both men received a broken leg.”An investigation is underway and police are appealing for witnesses to call 2950011.
