HWP Group has relocated its cycles sales division to its former Suzuki car showroom on East Broadway.

The new cycle sales showroom, which is adjacent to the Shell Service Station on East Broadway, was officially opened yesterday.

Of the move, president and CEO Jonathan Brewin said: "Over the past few months, HWP Group has been redeveloping our various sites to better accommodate our customers. As such it was decided to relocate our Suzuki car dealership to our St. John's Road showroom so that we will have to the majority of our car manufacturers in one location. (And) this therefore gave us the opportunity to use this showroom for our new cycle sales showroom."

Vice-president for cycle sales Harry Andrews said the East Broadway venue would allow the company to provide a "better facility for customers to browse" and to better display the cycles.

The company also said that the cycle service department would remain at its existing location opposite BAA Field on Canal Road.

Bermuda insurance company PXRe has appointed John Daly to the position of the company's Bermuda reinsurance unit - PXRe Reinsurance Ltd.

Mr. Daly, 46, will be responsible for non-US underwriting for the company and will reportedly focus on building the company's international catastrophe business. He will report to the group's executive vice-president, Guy Hengesbaugh.

Mr. Daly was previously with Lloyd's Syndicate 566 as active underwriter and director of Limit Underwriting Agency in London.

Mr. Hengesbaugh said in a press statement: "We delighted to have John join our firm. He is well-known internationally, with very strong and long-established client and broker relationships."

He continued: "We believe John is uniquely qualified to grow our International Catastrophe Business."

Before joining Limit Underwriting Agency, Mr. Daly was president of Hart Re Europe and general manager of its London operations.

He attended Langside College in Glasgow, Scotland.
