Wanderers wrap up another title

second relegation spot in the process when they beat St. George's All-Stars 2-0 at BAA Field on Saturday.

Wayne DeSilva scored the opening goal in the 25th minute and Thomas Gribbon settled it with the second a minute before the break.

The win enabled Wanderers to finish three points ahead of Robin Hood who had a default win over already-relegated Spinning Wheel.

The loss for All-Stars condemned them to the B Division as they missed out on goal difference to MR Onions who were also beaten, 3-2 by Fire Service.

Onions came back from 1-0 down to lead 2-1 as Gary Wilson netted twice. But Fire Service turned the match around with two goals in the last five minutes.

Robert Thomas, Alan Wilkinson and Randy Boyles were their scorers.

Ireland Rangers beat North Village Rams 5-2 with Keith Bremar scoring twice and Blake Outerbridge, Wolde Tensae and Richard DeSilva (penalty) getting the others. Both Rams goals came from the penalty spot through Stevie Dickinson and Garrett (Punchy) Dill.

In the other match, Lobster Pot sealed third place with a 2-0 win over Mariners. Bob Markowski and Andy McCullough scored for the winners.

Somerset Extros, determined not to be promoted to the more competitive Group A, defaulted their second straight match in Group B when they failed to show for the game against Devonshire Lions.

But Extros still hold down second spot after Prison Officers lost 4-2 to champions Forties.

Officers, one point behind, must now win their final match against Wolves Pack to move ahead of Extros.

Mike Williams scored twice for Forties while Brian Fubler and Carlos Lee got the others as they ended their season with a 16-win and two-draw record. Gary Ray and Robert Edwards scored for Officers.

Devonshire All-Stars came from behind to beat Belco 2-1. Craig Brangman had given Belco the lead after four minutes but Jeff Richardson and Robert Tota replied in the eighth and 81st minutes to give All-Stars victory.

Exiles outscored Bermuda Pest Control 5-3 as Carlos Durham scored a hat-trick and was supported by strikes from Clevelyn Crichlow and Alan Johnson.

G.Braithwaite, D.White and K.Douglas tallied for Bermuda Pest.

In the other match Valley edged bottom team Wolves Pack 4-3.
