Trott and Shillington win cross-country race

Sean Trott and Joanna Shillington won the Bermuda Track and Field Association's cross-country race on Saturday, winning comprehensively in the Open Men's and Women's categories respectively.

Trott ran the five-mile Arboretum course in 28 minutes, 20 seconds, with the closest competitor only managing to run three miles of the required distance, while Shillington ran the three-mile regulation course for the women in 21 minutes, 44 seconds with Mia Pauwels, Tamika Williams and Carolyn Bamford rounding out the division.

Victoria Fiddick won the Women's Masters title, beating out Mapri and Coral Griffith, while James Keyes beat out David Brown to earn the Men's Masters crown.

Vanessa Stott and Mike Osborne won the Women's and Men's Senior titles respectively.

In the junior divisions, Shaquille Dill and Taylor-Ashley Bean won the U-20 Boys' and Girls' title with relative ease, Dill beating Darico Clarke by 46 seconds, while Bean was the only runner in her age group.

Megan Berry and Juma Mouchette won the Girls' and Boys' U-17 titles respectively.

Berry was 58 seconds ahead of Kamryn Minors, while Kameron Creighton was 55 seconds behind Mouchette.

In the U-14 Girls' category Quasshie Douglas (13:25) outlasted Zakiyyah Showers (14:07) to win the title, while in the Boys' it was Paul Smith (12:18) who was first across the line, just two seconds ahead of second placed Dariel Reyes.

Aaron Jacobs and Azaria Robinson won the Boys' and Girls' U-12 titles respectively, with Sajan Harvey and Messiah Greaves claiming top honours in the Boys' and Girls' U-10 categories.
