But they are not upwardly mobile exempt company executives. They are Bermuda's drug dealers and in the latest issue of RG Magazine , free with tomorrow's Royal Gazette , you can read why an increasing number of the Island's youngsters are taking the risky route to the good life.

As they tell writer John Burchall, why bother going to college and joining `the system' when they can make more than $5,000 on a weekend selling weed and other illegal drugs.

In the second of RG's three-part series on drugs and alcohol, Burchall investigates how drugs are brought into Bermuda and how they are distributed throughout the Island. With the drugs business conservatively estimated at close to $50 million a year in Bermuda, Burchall argues, the temptations are enormous.

"The bottom line is the profit margin,'' one street hustler tells Burchall.

"I'm one of many guys who have absolutely nothing to lose. Prison doesn't scare me ... I have money stashed away for a lawyer if I get caught, but I don't plan to.''
