JetBlue staff donate scooters to charities

Have scooters, will travel: JetBlue staff built five scooters during a team building day at LF Wade International Airport and donated them to The Sunshine League and Teen Haven. JetBlue staff are pictured with the scooters and representatives of the two charities.

Five scooters specially built by JetBlue staff in Bermuda have been donated to two of the Island’s children’s charities.The airline company combined a team building day with helping out the community. Employees worked together to build the scooters for The Sunshine League and Teen Haven.Members of the two charities also lent a hand with the scooter building at LF Wade International Airport. JetBlue also committed to providing travel tickets to the charities to be used in three major fundraising efforts.“Crew members really enjoyed being able to step out of the operation to reflect on how they can make things better in their working environment and in their community,” said the company in a statement.“Anytime we partner with an influential charity, we enjoy building a relationship with them and hope to support them in future.”The Sunshine League cares for children at risk, while Teen Haven provides residential care for young women and their children in need of housing, and also consulting and education for school-age teen mothers.
