Cain appointed general counsel
David Cain has been appointed general counsel for ACE Overseas General.
Mr. Cain will have responsibility for ACE?s legal affairs in the company?s Latin America, Far East and Asia Pacific regions, including Greater China.
Based in New York, Mr. Cain will report to Ed Clancy, president and chief operating officer, ACE Overseas General, and to Robert Cusumano, general counsel, ACE Limited.
Mr. Cain will work closely with Randi Cigelnik in her capacity as general counsel for ACE Europe, ACE Global Markets and ACE?s businesses in the Middle East. ?David?s considerable experience in the international arena will make him a strong asset to ACE Overseas General, providing strategic legal counsel to the group,? Mr. Clancy said.
Mr. Cain joined the ACE USA Legal Department in July 2005. Prior to joining ACE, he worked as a corporate attorney at the Travelers (now St. Paul Travelers), and more recently, The Hartford. Mr. Cain also spent five years at Hebb & Gitlin, a private law firm, where he gained extensive experience outside the US, serving as a resident partner in that firm?s Singapore office as well as working in Indonesia.
Mr. Cain holds a bachelor of arts degree from Holy Cross and a juris doctor degree from the University of Connecticut.
