A 31-year-old man pleaded guilty to importing drugs minutes before his trial was to start.
Garrick Williams, of Green Acres Road, Devonshire, appeared in Supreme Court yesterday.
He was charged with importing heroin and ecstasy on May 16, 2006 and possession of both drugs with the intent to supply.
With the potential jury pool on hand Williams, who has been in custody, stood up and pleaded guilty to importing heroin and ecstasy. He pleaded not guilty to possession with the intent to supply and those two charges will stay on the file.
The amount of drugs Williams imported was not revealed in court yesterday.
A date for sentencing will be set in the February arraignments session.
