Man accused of raping woman
raping a woman in the parish on August 31.
He was bailed in the sum of $3,000 with a like surety, on condition he has no contact with the woman, reports to Hamilton Police station every Saturday and surrenders his passport.
His next appearance is scheduled for July 16.
SON FORGED HIS MOTHER'S CHEQUES CTS Son forged his mother's cheques A man who procured $300 by forging one of his mother's cheques was remanded in custody yesterday for psychiatric and social inquiry reports.
Charles Howard Ebbin, 33, admitted in Magistrates' Court that on May 1 he forged the cheque, fraudulently uttered it and obtained $300 from the Bank of Bermuda by false pretences.
Insp. Peter Duffy, prosecuting, said Ebbin lived in the apartment below that of his mother Barbara in Pembroke. She got a statement from the bank along with a used cheque made out to her son, and when she examined her book she found two cheques missing.

Prosecutor Insp. Peter Duffy told the court that Leroy Allen Tuzo, of Marsh Lane, was seen by officers standing on Union Street in Hamilton raising a brown paper bag to his mouth and drinking from a beer bottle last Thursday.
Senior Magistrate the Wor. Will Francis asked Tuzo if he had something to say and he responded:"The top was still on the bottle. They couldn't see it. I had nothing to drink out of the bottle.'' Mr. Francis fined him $50.

Prosecuting, Insp. Peter Duffy told the court that on June 16, Wilfred E.
Stevens was asked to leave the Marsh Lane shelter because he had been drinking, which is not allowed on the premises.
The supervisor called Police and asked that they remove Stevens from the premises. His speech was slurred and he needed help to walk after falling onto an officer. "He was arrested for his own good,'' said Insp. Duffy.
Stevens admitted being drunk and incapable.

DeShields, of Northcliffe Lane, pleaded guilty to attempting to steal five silver rings from the Front Street store on May 16.
A social inquiry report was ordered and DeShields reappeared in court for sentencing yesterday.
"Follow the recommendations of (the probation officer),'' Mr. Francis continued. "It's fortunate for you and everyone else that the goods you were trying to get away with, you didn't get very far with them.'',
