Bill Black has retired from the Bermuda Security Group after 32 years.
Mr. Black stepped down at the end of June after the company was sold to Herman Tucker, the former permanent secretary of the Department of Transport. “Bermuda Security Group is being left in safe hands,” Mr. Black said.

Bermuda-based reinsurer Partner Re has appointed Tad Walker as head of its catastrophe division.
Mr. Walker will be responsible for Partner Re's world wide catastrophe business and will manage the underwriting team based in Bermuda and Zurich, as well as the research and exposure control teams, a company press release said.
Mr. Walker, who has 18 years of experience in the property casualty insurance and reinsurance industry, was previously senior vice president, Latin America of the American Reinsurance Corporation. Before that, he held several senior positions in risk management, insurance and treasury

Arch Insurance Group has appointed Thomas Kaiser president of its property, energy and marine division.
Mr. Kaiser, 55, has over 25 years of experience in the insurance industry. He was previously a member of Zurich's group management board and the chief executive officer of Zurich Corporate Solutions. Before that, he worked for American International Group and Arkwright Mutual Insurance Company.

Air Care has announced the promotion of Kevin Hudson to Project Installation Supervisor.
Mr. Hudson, has been with Air Care since August 1996. His new post will see him involved in planning, supervising, and inspecting the installation, operation, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of a wide variety of equipment.
He will also provide technical and diagnostic guidance to a work group on maintenance, repair and installation systems.
Air Care Limited is a member of Investors In People (IIP). Investors in People is the National Standard which sets a level of good practice for training and development of people to achieve business goals.

Kathleen Faries has been named managing director in Bermuda of International Disability Services Ltd., a loss reserve and claim management consulting firm.
In a Press statement, the company said that Ms Faries has over 15 years of insurance and reinsurance experience. Her background was said to be helpful in the company's effort to expand into the WOrk Comp loss reduction and loss transfer arena, with the focus to date being primarily on long term disability loss reserves.
