Furbert's double eliminates AICO

Reginald Pitcher, Andre Manders and Lionel Cann were top batsmen for St.
David's, but it was Hedley Furbert's two-run double in the fifth inning which turned out to be the winning hit. Pitcher was three-for-three at the plate with a home run and two runs-batted-in. Manders supplied two more hits, a triple and double. Michael Glasford hung on for the pitching victory.
Gilbert Beek and Orrin Caines each had two hits in the losing effort for AICO.
Pitcher Sanford Seepersad was tagged with the loss.
In other play-off games, BF&M kept their playoff hopes alive with a convincing 29-13 victory over Business Systems. Danny Bucher put in an aggressive performance at the plate when he swatted five hits in six at-bats. Two of the hits went for extra bases and he drove in six runs. Ken Williams was also five-for-six and he drove in five runs. Jose Ferreira made the most of his three at bats with three hits in three at-bats. One went for a double and Ferreira drove in four runs. With three hitting titans in the line-up, Alan Winston sailed towards the victory.
Deon Cann was two-for-four and Dane Brown was four-for-four for Business Systems. Richard Miller was the losing pitcher. Despite the loss, Business Systems still enjoy a 2-1 lead in the series.
Showbizz regained the upper hand in their series against Cooper & Lines with a 21-6 victory and a 2-1 lead in their play-off series.
Mark Monaghan provided the hitting spark with four hits, including a towering home run and six RBI. Roger Thompson was four-for-five, with three doubles.
Jan Lahti added two key hits. Winning pitcher James Thomas was helped by a 10-run splurge in the first inning.
Harold Aitken slammed a pair of triples off Thomas and Leonard Aitken sprayed two hits in a meagre offensive effort. Keith DeCosta was the losing pitcher.
