Same time, next year
August 1, 2006
Dear Sir,
My cousin and I recently had the pleasure of a first time visit to your most spectacular island July 16 to July 20. I have a solo law practice in Easton Maryland and also work on the weekends at the Eastport Yacht Club in Annapolis. For years I have listened to the club members? adventures sailing to Bermuda as well as visiting there when not sailing. I saw first hand what they have been raving about for years.
We stayed at the Salt Kettle House on Paget and enjoyed the most gracious hospitality of Hazel Lowe and her family. They truly made Salt Kettle House feel like our home away from home while endearing us the Bermuda culture. We also dined at several restaurants in Hamilton and were impressed by all of them. Our plane left late Thursday night so we had lunch at the Lemon Tree. To our surprise, there was a patron there who looked amazingly like the American actor Robert Mitchum.
When I was growing up in Easton, Mr. Mitchum had an estate nearby. As a child it was not an unusual event to see him around town. I should have asked the patron for his picture but I didn?t want to seem presumptuous. Perhaps the next time I visit Bermuda, I will run into him again. Thank you for whatever you are doing to keep your beautiful island so serene. We have already booked accommodations for the same time next year. However, I am sure we won?t wait that long to return!
