Argus Group, BCB and Belco lift BSX

The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) Index rose more than 11 points yesterday, on the back of three local companies' rising share prices.

Argus Group Holdings Ltd. gained 50 cents (3.6 percent) to close the day at at $14.50. Meanwhile Bermuda Commercial Bank (BCB) gained three percent to close up 25 cents (3 percent) at $8.50.

And Belco Holdings Ltd. rose 30 cents (1.4 percent) as the energy provider's share price closed at $22.

Butterfield Bank Ltd. fell back 25 cents (0.4 percent) to finish the day at $56.50, as 6,971 of its shares traded.

A total of 8,000 BCB shares, 100 Argus shares and 1,520 Belco shares changed hands.

The volume of shares traded was 16,591, worth a total of $497,796.25. The Index closed up 11.63 points (0.24 percent) to 4,868.50.
